About

Hello & Welcome

My name is Whitney Kuefler (she/her) and it is truly my desire to serve, support, and empower you through the passage to parenthood. My career as a birth doula bloomed from blending two of my passions, birth and relationship building.  My intent is to be your sounding board, your listening ear, your cheerleader, and a source of comfort.  Being able to walk with you on this journey by being a steadying and non-judgmental presence is a deeply gratifying and humbling experience.

I reside in the south suburbs of the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metro with my husband, son, and twin daughters. In my spare time you will find me with my nose in a book, hands in the garden, connecting with friends over a cup of cinnamon spice tea, and exploring the outdoors with my family.

I look forward to supporting you through your own birth journey!

Experience

Testimonials

"I truly couldn't have imagined our birth experience without Whitney. She was a calming and reassuring presence during each unexpected turn.  . . . Whitney was not only like a labor coach to me, but she was for my husband as well.  I cannot recommend working with Whitney enough, she was such a rock for us."

". . . She was warm, kind, and open from the very beginning, acting as a pillar of knowledge and strength as she helped to lead us through this sometimes daunting process.  She was an incredible guide during the birth itself, instinctively responding to both my needs and my husband’s.  Providing comfort, calm, and logistical support (like getting the bath ready, handling music, and just generally making sure things in the room were in order), she helped make it possible for my husband to be fully present during the most difficult points of labor.   . . ."

"Whitney is the the calm encouragement you want during pregnancy and birth.  She is very knowledgeable about a plethora of coping techniques for labor and the long days leading up to labor.  She seemed to be almost a mind reader during labor of what was helpful and what was not.  Perhaps most importantly her calm presence throughout the birth helped my partner remain centered and focused.   . . ."

". . . The day of labor was a little bit of a whirlwind and we were so thankful to have her confident and calm voice with us in the midst of everything.  She was ready to provide whatever was needed, help in any way with massages and speak encouraging words throughout labor.   . . ."

"We absolutely loved having Whitney as our doula.  We hired her for the birth of our second child and from the beginning she was thoughtful, easy to work with, and a wealth of knowledge.  I felt very well taken care of, and knew that I could go to her with my questions, concerns, fears and joys.  During labor she offered helpful suggestions, gave appropriate space for my husband to support me, and adjusted well when things did and/or did not work for me.   . . ."

"Whitney was amazing!!!   ...During birth she went above and beyond! She reminded us of our birth plan, got water, cool rags, snacks, and was very encouraging while we tried different birthing positions. When things didn’t go to plan she was always there to support us and go with the flow. She was also open to taking photos and videos which are great to look back on. She stayed after the birth and helped with breast feeding and even went out and brought us dinner back to the hospital!  I would definitely recommend Whitney to anyone looking to have a great birth experience!! She was awesome and if we have another child I can’t wait to utilize her knowledge and skills again!"

"I would hire Whitney again in a heartbeat. She is kind, thorough, and curious. We felt very prepared going into having our first baby. Although our actual labor and delivery experience was nothing like we expected or planned for, Whitney provided support and reassurance the whole way through."

"Whitney was such an incredible support to have during our pregnancy, labor & delivery, and the postpartum period. Her prenatal meetings were thorough and informative, offering my husband and I the chance to reflect on previous birth experiences and fully prepare for our upcoming birth. She offered many resources and was always quick to respond to any questions during my pregnancy and early stages of labor. When it came to the birth itself, she brought a calm presence paired with extensive knowledge and ideas to support me while in labor. We would recommend Whitney to anyone seeking to hire a doula - she truly provides great care and support!"

"Whitney was amazing!!! This was my first birth and my husband and I went in knowing the basics, but not everything. She did a great job explaining everything in detail, answering all our questions and she did it all while making us feel comfortable and without judgement! We loved having two meet ups before birth, they were very helpful in learning about all of the different options and tools to use while in labor and there was always an interactive element which really helped my husband, Whitney and I with discussion and to make sure we were all on the same page. In addition to the meetings, she was consistent in sending website links, sharing articles and videos, and answering any calls and texts. During birth she went above and beyond!
